The reader (10) has a contact carrier (11) carrying a data contact, and a cover (12) fastened to the carrier under formation of a card slot. A push-push mechanism (20) has a hertz curve arrangement (80) formed in the carrier, and a disk arrangement displaceable with the curve arrangement engaged with a subscriber identity module card. The arrangement is held together with the card at an end of a push by the mechanism. A card slot blocking unit (62) blocks insertion of the card and the disk arrangement during reaching a certain insertion depth of the card and the disk arrangement in the slot.
