The present invention relates to a hydrogenation method of a cyclic olefin-based ring-opening polymer and, more specifically, a hydrogenation method of a cyclic olefin-based ring-opening polymer, which uses a hydrogenation catalyst and selectively makes cyclic olefin-based ring-opening polymer into hydrogenation under a polar solvent whose structure is a single bond, thereby obtaining hydrogenation yield in a simple manner without side reactions of a heterogeneous hydrogen catalyst.
