An aligning device for indicating a central position of a bicycle handle bar stem (19, figure 5) mounted perpendicular to a handlebar (16) and, therefore, a central position 26 of a bicycle wheel 10. The aligning device 2 includes: a first bracket 6; a second bracket 8; a pointer 4 which may be a laser pointer 5 with a laser housing 7. The device further includes: at least one first bracket strut 10 comprising: a bracket end; a pointer end; at least one second bracket strut 12 comprising: a bracket end; a pointer end. The first bracket and the second bracket are separated by a bracket separation 30; wherein the first bracket 6 is attached to the bracket end of the first bracket strut 10; wherein the second bracket 8 is attached to the bracket end of the second bracket strut 12; wherein the pointer 4 is attached to the pointer end of the first bracket strut and the pointer end of the second bracket strut; wherein the first and the second bracket comprise an open configuration and a closed configuration; wherein the first and the second bracket in the closed configuration are operative to attach to the bar such that the pointer device is positioned central to the stem; wherein the pointer is operative to extend an indication of a central position of the stem; wherein movement of at least one of: the at least one first bracket strut and the at least one second bracket strut is operative to change the bracket separation. |
