Disclosed is a head-up display apparatus. The head-up display apparatus of the present invention comprises: a display panel; a backlight unit for radiating a light on the display panel; and a control unit for controlling a luminance of a light radiated on the backlight unit by using at least one among a pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming method, an analog dimming method, and a frequency variation method wherein the control unit controls a duty-ratio by adopting one among the analog dimming method and the frequency variation method in the case where the control of a duty-ratio through the PWM dimming method reaches limit thereof, and the control unit controls a duty-ratio through the frequency variation method in the case where the control of a duty-ratio through the PWM dimming method or the analog dimming method reaches limit thereof. |
