METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FILTRATION MATERIAL

The invention concerns a method for producing a filtration material for use, in particular, in the treatment of water, comprising the following steps: - grinding an iron oxide, - bringing the ground iron oxide into dry contact with a pozzolan medium, resulting in the attachment of at least a portion of the iron oxide to said pozzolan medium, - stirring the whole, and sieving in such a way as to separate the pozzolan coated with iron oxide from the excess iron oxide not attached to the pozzolan medium. The invention also concerns a filtration material obtained by a method according to the invention, and comprising a pozzolan support, and a film of iron oxide disposed on said medium.
