The present invention provides a combined cycle fuel cell system that includes a fuel cell, such as a solid-oxide fuel cell (SOFC), comprising an anode generating tail gas and a cathode generating cathode exhaust. The system or plant may add fuel, such as processed or refined tail gas, to the inlet air stream of a reformer to heat the reformer. The system or plant may removes water from the tail gas and recycles the removed water into an inlet fuel stream. The inlet air stream may be either the cathode exhaust stream of the fuel cell, or input hydrocarbon fuel generating a hydrogen-rich reformate as induced to the reformer. The system or plant may induce some of the processed or refined tail gas to a lower cycle. |
