An apparatus and a method for melting a magnesium crown are provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for melting a magnesium crown capable of melting a magnesium crown by being immersed in molten steel in a crucible comprises: a container into which the magnesium crown is inserted; and an impeller-shaft unit connected with the container to increase the melting speed of the magnesium crown.
