The present invention relates to an anti-AIMP1/p43 antibody selectively bound to an ARS-interacting multifunctional protein 1 (AIMP1/p43) and, more specifically, to an antibody bound to human AIMP1/p43 or a fraction thereof, a production method thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancers or a composition for diagnosing cancers and inflammatory diseases comprising the same. The antibody or the fraction thereof is specifically bound to the human AIMP1/p43 and is capable of detecting and inhibiting AIMP1/p43 due to no cross reactivity with other proteins including the same ARS family, thereby being able to be used in detecting AIMP1/p43, treating cancers related with AIMP1/p43, and diagnosing cancers and inflammatory diseases.
