Biological production of methane utilising the molecular mechanisms and proliferation in methanogenic archaea for use as a renewable fuel

Methane is produced using methanogenic microorganisms in a reaction vessel containing hydrogen and dissolved carbon dioxide. The dissolved carbon dioxide is provided by dissolving calcium carbonate, and the hydrogen is supplied via a feed from a hydrolysis unit. The methane produced is removed to a storage tank.
