<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device capable of surely preventing damage caused by driving a lifting plate over an upper limit position, and an image processing apparatus.SOLUTION: An upper limit position sensor 204 is switched between a first detection state and a second detection state in accordance with contact/separation of a sheet placed on a sheet loading surface and a pickup roller. The upper limit position sensor 204 is brought into the first detection state in the state where the sheet placed on the sheet loading surface and the pickup roller are abutted and in the state where the pickup roller is not mounted. A sensor state detection section 401 detects whether the upper limit position sensor 204 is capable of shifting between the first detection state and the second detection state. Only when the upper limit position sensor 204 is in the second detection state and the sensor state detection section 401 detects that the upper limit position sensor 204 is capable of shifting, a drive control section 402 permits raising drive of a lifting plate by a drive section 164.</p> |
