<p>The device has gripping tongues (22) inwardly pointing towards each other and pressed diagonally upwards by sliding the device via a neck portion of a standing article e.g. bottle, and parallel to a longitudinal direction of the article against elastic return forces. Three contact portions of the article are pivotally and/or elastically arranged on a holding frame (20) of the device. The tongues are brought into the holding frame in an angular position. Face surfaces of the tongues are positively and/or non-positively supported against the contact portions of the article.</p>
