<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming uniform metal and/or metal carbide coating which can be easily performed and can be effectively applied also to submicrometer-level fine diamond particles. <P>SOLUTION: In the method, a transition metal carbide coating layer is formed on the surface of each diamond particle by preparing a molten chloride bath composed of one or more sorts of metal chlorides and containing transition metal ions, suspending diamond particles in the chloride bath, maintaining the chloride bath at a reaction temperature, and bringing the transition metal ions into tight contact with carbons of the diamond particles to cause reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
