<p>A seat 6 mountable to a load space 3 of an automobile 1, typically an estate car or SUV fitted with a tailgate 4, includes a seat cushion (9, Figure 7) positionable to extend out of an opening to load space 3 and providing a seat for a person outside automobile 1; typically seat 6 may overhang a rear of automobile 1 or lie on a rear bumper moulding. Seat 6 may be removably mounted to load space 3 using assemblies (8, Figure 2) at opposite sides of load space 3, which may allow seat 6 to be longitudinally moved fore and aft in automobile 1. Seat 6 comprises a divider (7, Figure 5) slidably moveable along, and lockable at a position between ends of, tracks in load space 3, and is mounted, preferably pivotally, so as to move between an upright position dividing load space 3 and a flat position in which the seat cushion is deployable.</p> |
