1. A shift actuator layout structure in a vehicle having a crankcase for rotatably supporting a crankshaft extending in the lateral direction of said vehicle, a power unit having a transmission provided in said crankcase, a shifting device configured to change a shift position in said transmission, a shift actuator for operating said shifting device, a gear mechanism provided between a shift spindle and said shift actuator, and a shift position sensor, wherein
said vehicle has a cover member mounted on one side of said crankcase so as to cover an end portion of said crankshaft projecting from said crankcase and also said shift spindle located on a rear side of said cover member as an input member of said shifting device; and said shift actuator is located below a longitudinal range of said cover member in parallel to said crankshaft and on the front side of the axis of said shift spindle, wherein said cover member is a first cover member and has an arcuate wall surface convex toward said shift actuator above said shift actuator, and a second cover member is located adjacent to said first cover member, said second cover member having an arcuate wall surface convex toward said first cover member; and wherein in an area surrounded by said arcuate wall surfaces of said first and second cover members are said shift position sensor, said shift spindle, said gear mechanism and said shift actuator arranged in this order in a vertical direction of said vehicle along said arcuate wall surface of said first cover member. |
