The present invention provides a photosensitive resin composition for a black column spacer that can form a black column spacer having an uniform height when being applied on a substrate and can also form a black column spacer having an enough height difference in a halftone part and having a full-tone part as a photosensitive resin layer is exposed to light by interposing a halftone mask; a black column spacer formed from the same photosensitive resin composition; a display device having the same black column spacer; and a method for forming a black column spacer using the same photosensitive resin composition. The photosensitive resin composition for a black column spacer includes an alkali soluble resin, a photo polymerizable compound, a photo polymerization initiator, a light-shielding agent, and a solvent including a certain amount of a low boiling point solvent (L) having a boiling point of 170°C under atmospheric pressure and a certain amount of a high boiling point solvent (H) having a boiling point of 180°C under atmospheric pressure.
