The present invention relates to a touch screen device and a method for sensing touch. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the touch screen device includes: a panel unit including a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes; a driving circuit unit that applies a predetermined driving signal on M (a natural number of 2 or greater) first electrodes from the first electrodes at the same time; a sensing circuit unit that detects capacitance, generated in intersection points between the first electrodes and the second electrodes and outputs a detection signal; and a computation unit which determines touch input based on the sensing signal. The driving circuit unit generates the driving signal according to a predetermined matrix of M rows and N (a natural number of 2 or greater) columns. An element of the first to a fix(M/2)+1 row of the first column in the matrix is 1. An element of a fix(M/2)+2 to M row is -2. An element of a second to N column of the first to M row is generated according to at least one from a predetermined PN code and a Walsh code. The fix(M/2) may be a function rounding off the decimal point or smaller. |
