A device for controlling an electric turbocharger according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a turbine wheel rotated by exhaust gas and a compressor wheel rotating by interlocking with the turbine wheel; a motor for generating power to supplement the rotation of the compressor wheel and functioning as a power generator according to necessity; and a control part for controlling the power generation of the motor and the electric power generation of the motor depending on the acceleration conditions of a vehicle, the electric power generation conditions of the motor and the gradient of a road. According to an embodiment of the present invention, as described above, the sense of acceleration felt by a driver can be improved by adjusting the power generation of the motor and the electric power generation of the motor included in an electric turbocharger depending on the driving state of the vehicle.
