According to an embodiment of the present invention, a first control device includes: a communications unit which exchanges data with a server or other devices; an input unit sensing a user input; and a control unit which requests the server for a shared account to enable the first control device or a second control device to log in the server, receives the shared account from the server, receives a registration request from the second control device, request the server for the registration of the second control device when the input unit senses a first user input approving the registration request, and controls the communications unit to transmit the shared account to the second control device upon being notified of the completion of the device registration from the server. The shared account is not displayed on the first control device or the second control device. The present invention enables a user using an account not registered to the server to easily be registered to the server without going through a user registration process.
