A display device includes a substrate, a gate pattern, a data pattern, a black matrix, and a transparent electrode. The black matrix and the transparent electrode are formed on the substrate having the gate pattern and the data pattern. The sum of the occupied area of the transparent electrode and the occupied area of the black matrix is the same as the area of the substrate, in the view point of the vertical direction of the substrate.
