Provided are an apparatus and method for measuring a gap between a nozzle and a cooling wheel using front and rear lights in amorphous fiber-manufacturing equipment. The gap measuring apparatus comprises: a gap measurement area setting unit setting a gap measurement area for measuring a gap between a nozzle and a cooling wheel; a first gap measuring unit measuring a gap in a set gap measurement area of a first image obtained using a front image and an image obtaining unit; a determining unit determining whether a gap measuring area is contaminated or not based on the measured gap; and a second gap measuring unit measuring a gap in a set gap measuring area of a second image obtained using a rear light and the image obtaining unit if the gap measurement area is contaminated as a result of the determination.
