The crane and the method for managing a crane can generate electric energy through vibration and pressure generated in a lateral movement of the crane using a piezoelectric element mounted on the crane main body, and detect a movement route and an operation time with the electric energy generated by the operation of the crane and transfer the movement route and the operation time of the crane to a crane managing server in real time, thereby efficiently managing the crane being used in a factory through a real time management system. The crane comprises: a movement rail member installed at a predetermined height; a crane main body moved along the movement rail member; and a piezoelectric element mounted on the crane main body to generate electric power while the crane is operated.
