The main objective of the present invention is to provide a method capable of resolving a problem of vehicle indoor noise due to combustion noise of an engine while preventing exhaust and fuel efficiency depression which a conventional technique such as engine injection control has. To achieve the purpose, disclosed is a method for controlling masking of combustion noise of an engine, which comprises the steps of: receiving a combustion pressure measurement signal of a combustion pressure sensor; receiving an engine noise parameter; obtaining cylinder pressure level data by signal-processing the combustion pressure measurement signal of the combustion pressure sensor to an FFT and making a conversion into a cylinder pressure level within a predetermined crank angle; calculating a combustion noise index from the cylinder pressure level data, and comparing the calculated combustion noise index with a reference value; determining that the combustion noise index is under a combustion noise occurrence condition that a combustion noise masking sound has to be outputted, when the combustion noise index is above the reference value, and determining a combustion noise masking sound from an engine noise parameter and a vibration signal of an engine cylinder block inputted from a vibration sensor; and controlling a sound playback unit to allow the combustion noise masking sound to be outputted through a vehicle interior speaker. |
