Electronic devices with motion response and related methods are provided. In this regard, a representative electronic device includes: an image capturing device operative to acquire image data; an accelerometer operative to sense an acceleration of the electronic device; and a motion response system operative to receive acceleration information corresponding to a sensed acceleration and to alter a mode of operation of the image capturing device based, at least in part, on the acceleration information.

1. An electronic device comprising:
an image capturing device operative to acquire image data; a display device operative to display the image data acquired; an accelerometer operative to sense an acceleration and velocity of the electronic device; and a motion response system operative to receive acceleration information corresponding to a sensed acceleration and velocity information corresponding to a sensed velocity, and to alter a mode of operation of the image capturing device based, at least in part, on the acceleration information and the velocity information; wherein the video capture mode of the image capturing device is actuated based, at least in part, on the acceleration information and the velocity information received corresponding to motion of the accelerometer along an arc between a first position and a second position, with the user being located at the center of the arc; and wherein, in the first position, the image capturing device exhibits a first field of view and, in the second position, the image capturing device exhibits a second field of view displaced from and in a non-overlapping relationship with the first field of view.
