The present invention relates to a brake system with a drag reducing function capable of more effectively reducing drag by making a piston in a caliper forcibly moved back by a negative pressure formed by supplying fluid in a hydraulic line to a reservoir tank by controlling the position of a pressurizing piston in the pressurizing cylinder connected with the reservoir tank through a motor, and to a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the brake system comprises: a motor moving the pressurizing piston in the pressurizing cylinder forward; and a brake control unit determining whether a corresponding vehicle is braked or not by receiving state information of the vehicle, performing a negative forming mode of forming a negative pressure by moving the pressurizing piston by operating the motor at the time of driving of the vehicle, and performing a negative maintaining mode to maintain the negative pressure when the formation of the negative pressure is completed. |
