<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus equipped with a main-rope rotation stopping mechanism with a simple structure, which comprises fire resistance and abrasion resistance and can secure safe operation of the elevator by preventing effectively not only rotation of a shackle rod but also torsion of a main rope.SOLUTION: An elevator apparatus, in which shackle rods connected to end portions of a plurality of main ropes by folding back the end portions of the main ropes suspending an elevator car and balance weight, lifted up/down within a hoistway, are installed in suspension portions which are provided in a building having the hoistway formed therein, the elevator car or the balance weight, comprises: a rotation stopping mechanism, constituted of first and second metallic and belt-like fixed plates that are oppositely arranged so as to hold the main ropes at positions at which the end portions of the plurality of main ropes are folded back, in which a plurality of contact portions and separated portions are alternately arrayed and formed along a longitudinal direction of the fixed plates by bending at least one of the fixed plates. In gaps formed between the plurality of separated portions of the rotation stopping mechanism are formed the portions at which the end portions of the main ropes are folded back so as to be fitted to each other and penetrated through the gaps.</p> |
