PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having superior charge and discharge cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode including a lithium-containing transition metal complex oxide as an active material; a negative electrode including at least graphite as an active material; a separator; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode has a collector and a negative electrode mixture layer including the active material and a binder on one or each side of the collector. The negative electrode mixture layer includes, as the binder, at least one binder (A) selected from a group consisting of a styrene butadiene rubber, alginic acid, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyacrylic acid and their salts. Supposing that the content of the styrene butadiene rubber is one on a mass basis, the content of the alginic acid is 0.05-0.2. |
