The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing map sharing services for a location information sharing. The present invention includes: a location sharing server which provides map sharing services to communication terminals by transmitting and receiving map control request signals and map-related information from terminals to terminals; and multiple communication terminals which transmit and receive the map control request signals and the map-related information through the location sharing servers and configure a map screen based on the map-related information. In the case the map-related information is transmitted from one of the communication terminals to the location sharing server, the location sharing server transmits the received map-related information to other communication terminals and other communication terminals configure the map screen based on the received map-related information and display the outcome on a display unit.
