PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system capable of appropriately obtaining a picture having high picture quality.SOLUTION: An imaging system 1 comprises: a base unit 31; an arm unit 32; a top unit 33; a smart phone 2 for imaging a medium 6; an illumination LED 39 which is provided at the top unit 33 and irradiates a medium mounting surface 5; a control unit 40 for performing drive control on the illumination LED 39; a scan switch 36 for instructing a scan; and a reading disabled region determination unit 25 for determining whether or not a reading disabled region 62 exists on the basis of a picture which corresponds to the medium 6 and is acquired by performing imaging in a lighting state of the illumination LED 39 before creation of picture data 60 after the scan is instructed. When the reading disabled region determination unit 25 determines that the reading disabled region 62 exists, the scan is performed after the illumination LED 39 is made to be in the lighting-out state by the control unit 40 in the case that the illumination LED 39 is in the lighting state. When the reading disabled region determination unit 25 determines that the reading disabled region 62 does not exist, the scan is performed in the lighting state. |
