PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an animal model for reproducing a phenomenon in which the intracerebral distribution of a pathological structure containing tau spreads in a patient's brain of isolated tauopathy with time in a shorter period, and develop a method for screening the substance affecting the characteristics of the tau strand pathological structure in the isolated tauopathy brain using the animal model.SOLUTION: A method for creating an isolated tauopathy model mouse of the present invention includes a step of forming tau strands by incubation of a solution containing glycosaminoglycan connected with sulfate groups of four or more per a disaccharide sugar unit and a monomer of tau protein, and a step of injecting the tau strands into the brain of the mouse having only normal tau gene. The glycosaminoglycan has a case of a dextran sulfate or a polysulfate pentosan.
