PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate manufacturing method for preventing the agglomerate of a platinum group metal evaporated from molding equipment and agglomerated from contaminating into sheet glass, and to provide a manufacturing apparatus.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass plate by a down-draw method comprises: a dissolving step of dissolving a glass material into molten glass; and a molding step of molding the molten glass MG into a sheet glass SG in a molding furnace by using the molding equipment 210 made at least partially of a platinum group metal. At said molding step of the manufacturing method, the platinum group metal in said molding furnace atmosphere is collected by the electrode or the like which is connected with a low-temperature member 50 or an external power source disposed at such a position in said molding furnace that the aggregate of the platinum group metal evaporated from said molding equipment 210 and agglomerated may not be mixed into the molten glass MG. |
