PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that can suppress the inclination of a traveling body traveling along a guide rod without requiring high manufacturing accuracy, and an image forming apparatus including the image reading device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes a guide rod 51 that is elongated in a sub scanning direction orthogonal to a main scanning direction and has a circular cross-sectional shape, and an image reading unit 11 that has a line sensor elongated in the main scanning direction and a bearing 52 that can contact at two points of the outer peripheral surface 511 of the guide rod 51 on the cross section orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the guide rod 51. |
