<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for cutting a roll base material which can prevent the base material from being melted by frictional heat and being damaged by cutting pressure.SOLUTION: A cutting method for cutting a roll base material obtained by winding a base material 1 around a core material 5 includes the steps of: cutting the base material 1 in advance into a plurality of base material divisions 2, 2 (first step); winding the plurality of base material divisions 2, 2 around the core material 5 (second step); and cutting the core material 5 around which the base material divisions 2, 2 are wound (third step). There is also provided, for cutting the core material, a cutting apparatus including: support and rotation means 11 for the base material divisions; cutting blade movement means 23; cutting blade adjustment means 24; and cutting blade operation means 25. The base material is cut in advance. The individual base material divisions are wound around the core material while being spaced apart from each other, and then the core material is cut, so that the rotating base material is not cut by a cutting blade. As a result, the base material can be prevented from being melted by frictional heat and being damaged by cutting pressure.</p> |
