<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet separation device for preferably separating sheets, regardless of the setting number of sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet separation device 1 comprises: a separation roller 42 for transporting sheets SH in a transport direction downstream side; and a separation piece 100 having a separation surface 100A facing an outer peripheral surface 42A of the separation roller 42, and separating the sheets SH one by one in cooperation with the separation roller 42. A position where the sheet SH is sandwiched between the outer peripheral surface 42A and the separation surface 100A when the sheet SH is supplied is a nip position N1, and when a first surface 101 positioned on a transport direction upstream side of the nip position N1 and a second surface 102 positioned on a transport direction downstream side of the nip position N1 are regulated on the separation surface 100A, the first surface 101 has a curve surface 101C which is curved so as to approach an axis center X42 of the separation roller 42 as it goes to the nip position N1 from the transport direction upstream side. The second surface 102 extends in a flat state along a width direction parallel to the axis center X42.</p> |
