The present invention provides a steel-pipe coupling type furring strip including a body unit having an upper flange installed to be in contact with a retaining wall, a T-shaped steel member having a web installed on the upper flange, and a steel pipe reinforcing member formed on the rear end of the T-shaped steel member in the longitudinal direction and distributing and supporting a load applied from the retaining wall and a spread beam supporting unit installed to be in contact with a part or all parts of the body unit and where spread beams are installed. The present invention is capable of widening an installation interval of the spread beams functioning as a supporting point to prevent the bending deflection of the furring strip by reinforcing the rigidity of a cross section of the furring strip using the steel pipe reinforcing member formed on the rear end of the T-shaped steel member and distributing and supporting the load applied from the retaining wall, thereby reducing construction cost by reducing the number of the spread beams.
