PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect noises which are mixed in a line sensor or the like during reading of an original image.SOLUTION: In a line sensor, an effective pixel group including imaging elements valid for reading an original image and a dummy pixel group including imaging elements invalid for reading an original image present on both sides of the effective pixel group, are arrayed in a line along a main scanning direction, and the original image is read one line by one line. A noise detection part, based on an image signal taken-in by the dummy pixel group, detects mixing in of noise in the line that has been read. When the noise detection part detects noises, an image correction part uses an image signal before and after lines, to correct the image signal of the line mixed with the noises. |
