PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel carbonate production method by which, in a system of an electric nickel production process including an electrowinning process in a nickel hydrometallurgy method, an amount of use of soda ash that is a raw material in a production process for nickel carbonate can be reduced and an increase in impurities in the system can be suppressed.SOLUTION: The nickel carbonate production method comprises: a soda ash-melting step of melting the soda ash to obtain a sodium carbonate melted solution; a reaction step of reacting the obtained sodium carbonate melted solution with an electrolytic waste liquid from an electrowinning process to precipitate a nickel carbonate; and a separation step of performing the solid-liquid separation of the obtained post-reaction liquid including nickel carbonate. Returning the separation liquid obtained by the separation step to the soda ash-melting step is repeated, and at that time, the densities of the separated liquid and the sodium carbonate melted solution are controlled within the ranges of 1.05-1.25 g/ml and 1.11-1.40 g/ml, respectively. |
