<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for alkali battery in which occurrence of an internal short circuit can be prevented.SOLUTION: A negative electrode 26 for alkali battery that is superposed on a positive electrode 24 with a separator 28 interposed therebetween, and wound spirally in order to form a cylindrical electrode group 22, includes a negative electrode core body 40 consisting of one metal thin plate, and a negative electrode mixture layer 48 provided on both sides of the negative electrode core body 40. The negative electrode mixture layer 48 is provided with a first groove 62 and a second groove 64 at the positions facing the end-of-winding 60 of the positive electrode 24 when forming the electrode group 22.</p> |
