PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which is small in difference between voltages when discharging and charging it, and achieves a good energy efficiency and a long charge and discharge life.SOLUTION: A secondary battery of the present invention comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and an electrolyte. At least one of the positive and negative electrodes, which is denoted by 11, includes, as an active material 12, at least one material selected from a group consisting of a metal ion-containing fluoride, a metal oxide, a metal sulfide, a metal nitride, and a metal phosphide. The electrolyte 13 includes anion receptors. The electrode active material 12 is allowed to dissolve in the electrolyte 13 on condition that the anion receptors combine with anions included in the electrode active material 12 to form salts or complexes. |
