PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly for a meter in a vehicle display panel, and a method of irradiating the meter in the vehicle display panel.SOLUTION: A backlight assembly a U-shaped light pipe and a reflection tray surrounding the light pipe. The light pipe and the reflection tray are arranged on a mounting plate of a meter on a liquid crystal display (LCD). The backlight assembly also includes one or a plurality of upward-lighting light emitting diodes (LEDs) arranged adjacent to the light pipe. The LED emits light to the light pipe. The light pipe transmits the light to the reflection tray. The reflection tray reflects or disperses the light uniformly, to irradiate a graphic applique of the meter. |
