PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device that alleviates an influence of a backlash of a gear train included in lens drive means without using two or more position detectors upon controlling one movable optical member, and enables a correct drive control of a lens.SOLUTION: A lens drive device connected to a lens device including a movable optical member and driving the movable optical member comprises: drive means for driving the movable optical member; control means for outputting instruction information instructing a drive of the movable optical member to the drive means; detection means for detecting first information on at least one of a position of the movable optical member and velocity thereof; computation means for computing second information on at least one of a position of the drive means and velocity thereof from a counter electromotive voltage generated by the drive of the drive means; and selection means for selecting the first information or second information in accordance with a status of a backlash owned by the drive means. The control means is configured to drive the drive means on the basis of the information selected by the selection means and the instruction information. |
