PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition which can form a coating film which exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and rust resistance by virtue of improved water resistant adhesion to a steel plate provided with a surface treatment such as metal plating.SOLUTION: Provided is an aqueous coating composition comprising: an aqueous epoxy-modified alkyd resin and an aqueous melamine resin as adhesive resins where the aqueous epoxy-modified alkyd resin is used in a proportion of more than 92 wt% and less than 98.5 wt% relative to the aqueous melamine resin: and, further, talc having a median diameter in a range of 10 μm or more and 30 μm or less, contained in the aqueous coating composition in an amount of 28 wt% or more and 41 wt% or less as solid. |
