<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the update of a smallest range for updating map data to update data in an individual format even if data update is implemented using common update data to a plurality of formats.SOLUTION: A map data distribution server 10 holds map data 16 corresponding to a plurality of areas obtained by dividing each region and map data 12 for update of the regions in a plurality of map formats, allocates first identification information indicating the map format corresponding to map update and second identification information indicating a dataset necessary to update in the map format to update data included in each of update elements, and transmits map update data 52 to a terminal device 20 when receiving a map data distribution request 51 from the terminal device 20. The terminal device applies part of the update data 52 received from the map data distribution server 10 to held map data on the basis of a first identifier and a second identifier at a time of updating the held map data.</p> |
