The present invention provides a method for setting the reduction ratio of a rolling mill. The method for setting the reduction ratio of a rolling mill according to the present invention comprises the steps of: allowing a control part to receive coil information and operation instructions from a higher control device and setting an initial reduction distribution ratio for each rolling stand; allowing the control part to determine a finishing thickness for each rolling stand according to the reduction distribution ratio; allowing the control part to calculate a rolling load and a nip pressure for each rolling stand via the finishing thickness; allowing the control part to compare the calculated nip pressure with a maximal nip pressure set for each rolling stand; and allowing the control part to set a reduction ratio for each rolling stand if the calculated nip pressure is smaller than or equal to the maximal nip pressure as a result of the comparison. |
