摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sealing device which can efficiently perform heat exchange by filling a liquefied heat medium in a heat exchange chamber even in the case that a forming position of a feed/discharge liquid passage in a seal case is limited, and a liquid discharge passage is forced to be formed in a position in which the liquid discharge passage cannot communicate with and continue to the uppermost portion of the heat exchange chamber.SOLUTION: A shaft sealing device is attached between a housing 1 of a rotating apparatus and a horizontal rotating shaft 2 which penetrates the housing, and comprises a seal case 3 which is attached in a state that the rotating shaft 2 concentrically penetrates the housing 1. A hollow annular heat exchange chamber 71 surrounding the rotating shaft 2 is formed in the seal case 3, and liquid feed/discharge passages 72, 73 for feeding and discharging the liquefied heat medium 7 are formed at the heat exchange chamber 71. A liquid discharge chamber 76b for communicatively connecting the uppermost portion of the heat exchange chamber 71 and the liquid discharge passage 73 being a hollow chamber smaller in capacity than the heat exchange chamber 71 is formed in the seal case 3 while adjoining the heat exchange chamber 71.</p>
