<p>The present invention relates to an austenitic steel for pipe expanding having excellent expandability and strength after expansion, and a method to manufacture the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the austenitic steel for pipe expanding having excellent expandability and strength after expansion is composed of 14-20 wt% of Mn, 0.3-1.0 wt% of C, 0.008-0.2 wt% of N, and a remaining amount of Fe and impurities; has a microstructure composed of carbide less than or equal to 2 area%, and a remaining amount of austenite structure; has a yield ratio (yield strength/tensile strength) to be less than or equal to 0.5; and has a uniform elongation of not less than 40%. According to the present invention, the austenitic steel for pipe expanding has excellent uniform elongation and expandability. In addition to this, the austenitic steel for pipe expanding has a high strain hardening rate, thereby securing excellent compressive yield strength after milling and expansion of a pipe.</p> |
