The present invention relates to a catalytic reactor for oligomerising C4-C7-olefins and to the catalytic oligomerisation method that uses said reactor under such pressure and temperature conditions that the reagents are fed to the reactor in the gaseous state, and the desired products are liquid at the working temperature. The reactor comprises a body divided by a liquid-permeable element (6) into two compartments, a top compartment (3) and a bottom compartment (4); an inlet (1) through which reagents in the gaseous state are supplied is located in said top compartment of the body (7) of the reactor; an outlet (2) for volatile/gaseous products and/or unconverted reagents is located in the top compartment and/or in the bottom compartment of the body of the reactor; and an outlet (5) for condensed products is located in the bottom compartment (4) of the body (7) of the reactor.
