<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic folding machine capable of minimizing labor for solving a problem that: gauze used in surgery in a conventional medical institution is folded into a complex shape so that a doctor can quickly and accurately take it out as necessary, and thus the gauze has been folded by manual operation, however, it is pointed out by the medical institution and the like that bacteria and dust are likely to attach to the gauze, and it is not preferable in terms of sanitation.SOLUTION: When folding gauze used, for example, in surgery or the like, a machine folds a portion of a square thin fabric sheet onto the front surface side and folds the other portion of the thin fabric sheet onto the back surface side along two folding lines so that the cross section forms an S shape or a Z shape. The machine can fold the thin fabric into the S shape or the Z shape instantly by rotating the thin fabric, which is cut from an original fabric and transported one by one, by 180 degrees along a shaft part of a gate plate placed under the thin fabric so as to roll a fixing rod from above the thin fabric.</p> |
