<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of reducing a loss effect of a laser beam even when a laser source and an optical wiring part are separately configured.SOLUTION: The optical module comprises: a quadrangular pyramid shaped laser beam introduction part having one square surface for receiving a laser beam and the other square surface parallel to and larger in area than the one square surface; an optical waveguide part having one end face linked to the other square surface of the laser beam introduction part, extending in an incident direction of the laser beam, and for guiding introduced light threreinto to emit it from the other end face; an optical path changing part having a reflection surface for reflecting the guided light emitted from the optical waveguide part; and a support substrate for supporting the laser beam introduction part, the optical waveguide part and the optical path changing part. When the one square surface of the laser beam introduction part is used as a right side surface and the other square surface is used as a left side surface, at least any surface other than the right and left side surfaces is a tapered surface.</p> |
