PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication support device, a communication support method and a program capable of properly selecting a word which has become a factor of failure in information transmission by conversation from a text in which a conversation between users is converted.SOLUTION: A communication support device includes: an event detection unit 14; a word extraction unit 15; and a word selection unit 16. The event detection unit 14 analyzes sentences converted from voice of utterance by conference participants, and detects an event showing that information transmission by conversation has failed. The word extraction unit 15 extracts words from the sentence in which the event is detected by the event detection unit 14. The word selection unit 16 selects the word which has become the factor of information transmission failure based on a transmission failure index calculated from the event in which the sentence including the word is detected, out of the extracted words extracted by the word extraction unit 15.
