Disclosed are a display panel and a display device, which better protect a metallic connection wiring region in a peripheral wiring region, thereby improving the protection function and preventing same from disconnecting. The display panel comprises: a gate insulating layer (102) arranged on a gate metal layer (101); and a protective layer (103), a passivation layer (105) and an indium tin oxide (ITO) covering layer (107) which are arranged on the gate insulating layer in sequence. The thickness of a film layer in the peripheral wiring region can be increased, so that the present invention can protect the entire peripheral wiring region, in particular a metallic connection wiring region exposed outside a colour film panel, thereby improving the protection function.
